    1. This isn't natively a guitar song, so there is no 'correct' pattern. This is how I play on my guitar though.

      The song has 8 measures in a bar and goes 123-123-12 for each bar. The first chord being played for the duration first 123 and second chord is played through 123-12.

      http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Strum

      following this convention, say for G C in a bar, go like

      Strum = / /\ \/\
      Chord = G GC CCC
      Accent= ` ``

      With accent on the first and second downstrums and the first upstrum. Hope I made some sense.

    2. But then again, the pattern should change during the antara, at "Poovinte marile". As my friend told me, if you are reading notation for strumming, you are doing it wrong. Try to use any strumming pattern and play, with practice you will hit something comfortable to you :).

      Maybe my friend kirukz who is a much better guitar player than me has some thing to add... ?

    1. Wow. This sounds awesome :D. You guys are doing 'US' a great honour with something like this. The guitar strumming is awesome, not to mention the super singing.

      (@Levis, if you watch the video you can see that Abhi has just gone with his feel rather than following any set pattern, changing the strumming according to the expression of the song, and thats exactly how strumming should be done :) )

      Reg - replacing G7 with C, I feel that if it is up to you to decide what kind of feel you want to give the song, as long as you feel it sounds right, many chords in the scale will fit it. I thought G7 gives an expectant, on the precipice kind of feel(you feel like you absolutely have to change the chord soon or the world will end :P) while C is more clean and gives a happy feeling to the song. It is up to the player to interpret it whichever way he/she feels like.

    1. I was seeing some of your Other videos too, you ppl are good :). I especially liked your use of guitar and the way in which you change the style of your play according to the mood, but in a few places, I feel the chords don't match correctly. Are you restricting yourself to the standard three-four chords, knowingly? Add more flavour and it will be all the more awesome is all I can say :D

    2. Hi Arzel, thanks alot for your comments.. its true that i'm restricting my self almost with basic chords cos of my lack of experience in guitar :( i wish i will overcome this situation soon :)

    3. :D. Everyone has to start sometime. I started just two years ago, and I think I am pretty comfortable with chords now. I would actually suggest you to try 'Safalamee Yatra' from the blog. It has amongst the most wonderful Malayalam poetry and there is are few songs better for finger practice. Actually you two could try doing a cover for it, if you have the time ;).
